Korea Travelogue - Seoul Day 1

We reached gimpo airport about 1130pm due to the delay of our flight.
Because typhoon hit jeju that night.
And I arrange with the guesthouse for a taxi to pick us up from gimpo airport at a fee of 35,000W.
After we check in, time to find food.
There is a lot of restaurant around our guesthouse, so there is nothing to worry!
We took a cab down to dongdaemun since it is the only place that open throughout the night.
But to be honest, don't visit!
Nothing is worth the price they are asking!
So EXPENSIVE. For that kind of quality, not appealing at all.

We stay at Residence EO guesthouse because of trip advisor recommendation.
However, I won't recommend you guys.
Most guesthouse doesn't have lift, which means you have to lug you luggage all the way up to the level you are staying.
I stayed on the 3rd floor. Imagine, me and my dad had to carry all our luggage up and on the day of checkout we have to carry everything down.
They does not have room service, which means from day 1 to the day you checkout, noone will clean your room or change your towel.
Comparing with other guesthouse, our guesthouse is at the bottom of namsan hill and is located just 3 mins from pacific hotel.
Which means you doesn't not need to climb the mountain everyday!

Gyeongbukgung Palace
The view of the palace is super pretty!
Walked around the whole palace and was amazed by how the emperor lives in the past.

We stayed till the change of guard started. It is actually not real, is just a demostration so that the culture of it will be passed down.

After the palace, we went to express bus terminal for some retail therapy.
The clothes are on sale and they are extremely affordable and good quality!
This is the only place I bought some clothes, other than that, I didnt really buy anything because everywhere is selling winter wear.

Cafe in seoul is just awesome. Every corners of the street you will be able to find pretty cafes.

Just near where i live, there are already lots of cafes. We went to try Two Awesome on day 1.

Berries with toast.
The toast is fluffy! So good. The whipped cream is actually milk cream?
Not those instant kind. You can actually tell the difference.

The square cake is Tiramisu and the other is dark chocolate cake.
I didnt taste the tiramisu because I don't take coffee?
But the dark chocolate cake is so moist and dense. The way I love my cake to be. (:

That night, we walked around myeongdong to have some skincare shopping and doing foot mask in our guesthouse.
Bought "a few" eyeliners from CLIO.
Comparing it with other korean brands, it is a little more expensive, but the quality is really good.
I have been trying their stick eye shadow and volume mascara. I have been loving them very much!
The sales staff is really nice and they actually tells you what kind of colour suits you instead of pushing all at you.

I can say that every cafes in seoul simply beat all the cafes in singapore.
Singapore cafes still need a lot of improvement.
